I’m Rob – I have a beard and I love cooking outdoors. I actually love cooking indoors too but that’s another website for another day.

Beardyman’s Outdoor Cooking came about during the 2020 Covid 19 Lockdown when we all had a little more time on our hands – and we were blessed here in the UK with a wonderful early spell of summer weather. Not being able to go out for a curry – or head to the pub for a steak meant I spent a load of time in the garden playing with my Kadai Firebowl.

It’s no secret that blokes are the masters of the barbecue – we’re genetically programmed to become masterchefs as soon as the sun comes out – but this isn’t about burgers and sausages (unless of course you’ve made them yourself) – this is about taking great recipes and cooking them in the great outdoors.

Having started an instagram account (@beardymansoutdoorcooking) I had a few requests for recipes – so that’s where the website idea came from. I’ll be sharing some recipes and how I’ve adapted them to work over the fire along with my thoughts on great outdoor cooking kit.
